Hey there, my name is Nicole Bryce, hence the NB Fitness.
I turned 40 last year (2014), which to be honest isn’t as bad as they make out, as I’ve always thought age is only a number. You are definitely only as old as you feel and I must admit I feel pretty good most of the time…
I have a 10 year old son (Farrel) who is my little sidekick. Farrel is actually the main reason my passion for health and fitness has become so important to me!
Throughout my life I have always been a lover of physical activity, during my school years I played sports and was a keen long distance runner. In later years I still kept myself relatively fit doing different aerobic classes and attending the gym, running the odd 10k race etc. It was when I gained almost 5 stone during my pregnancy that my attitude totally changed. I was 30 years of age when I fell pregnant with Farrel. Although I was practically unrecognisable nearing the end, I loved being pregnant. I had a very quick and straightforward labour luckily enough.
As soon as I was able to focus on getting my body back into shape, I trained religiously at the gym each week where I could also take Farrel to the crèche – which was a great help! Alongside the training, I began to get more and more interested in nutrition and clean eating. My attitude to food completely changed. I used to love macaroni cheese, Chinese takeaways, chocolate, you know what it’s like! I now wouldn’t even eat macaroni cheese as a treat, my body would be in bits trying to digest it. I do however still love chocolate, I just save it for treats and try to eat dark chocolate as less sugar!
I had never before been overweight so this was a new challenge for me. I began researching and became more and more interested in other people’s relationships with food and exercise. I went back to college and graduated in Sports Therapy and then decided to further my knowledge by becoming a PT. I lost all my weight gain and I’m now in better shape than I was before I was pregnant. I have a healthy balanced lifestyle of clean eating and I train regularly at and outside of work hours.
My passion is to help others on their journey to a healthier lifestyle and change their attitude in order for them to maintain and enjoy the process. I am constantly learning and furthering my knowledge, the body is an amazing piece of machinery with new things being discovered all of the time.
Please join me in my journey and get to know me on a more personal level.
